Minecraft Villager Jobs: A Guide Since 1.14 Village and Pillage, Minecraft villages have seen a dramatic change. The entire system of trading as well as the economy of items and the jobs that each villager does is completely revamped. This guide will give you an extensive overview of how to manage the villager's trades. At the end of this you should have a sense of how to get the items you need. So let's get started! What are the Countless Villager Jobs available in Minecraft? There are currently 15 villager positions in Minecraft. This is an overview of all the possible jobs that a villager could be able to take. You can place the job block that corresponds to the job you are seeking next to the Unemployed Villager if you want to apply for an employment. The villager's job will determine the trades they are able to offer. If you don't have an unemployed Villager, you can demolish the job block that a villager is using. If you're not able to get the desired trades from a villager you can take away the job block and place it again to reload their trades. Essentially useless. Job Block N/A Shepherd - Offers a variety of colored wools and paintings. Job BLock: Loom Toolsmith - Provides tools of various quality and even magical! Job Block: Smithing Table Unemployed Offers nothing, but could be employed. Job Block: N/A Weaponsmith - Sells Iron and Diamond Swords/Axes, even magical! Job Block: Grindstone Villager Appearance: Not only do the jobs of villager change depending on their profession, but their appearance will be different in each biome. To make sure that each job remains distinct, they keep traits that are specific to their field of work. All Farmers wear straw hats and all Librarians will have glasses. Trading Stock: Mojang introduced the wonderful concept of 'Supply & Demand' in Mojang 1.14. This means that if trade is carried out too frequently and the villager run out of inventory, but prices (the quantity of the items or gemstones you have to exchange) will rise. Trades can be made up to four times before stock runs out. Villagers replenish their stock every day. If an item isn't sold for at all the price will decrease. Unlocking Trades: When a trade occurs between a villager and the player, both of them gain experience. The next tier of trades is available when the villager's level increases. Villagers have five levels of trades that allow for more and more high-quality items. The level of the villager can be represented by a colored badge worn on their clothing. It can be a range of Novice (Stone), Apprentice (Iron) and Journeyman/Gold), Expert(Emerald) up to Master(Diamond). Wandering Trader This is somewhat unusual however, there is a villager who is completely different from the others. The Wandering Trader is a passive mob that appears randomly across the globe, and with no pattern. It has two trading lamas with leash which are similar to normal llamas, but with a cosmetic modification. Another peculiarity about this Villager is the absence of trading levels. This means that any trades you've taken with him will remain yours forever. Fear not though, for his trades will be reset next time he spawns in. The deals offered by the Wandering Trader are regarded as typically obscure, and difficult items to get. Although they aren't particularly effective or impressive but they are still worth a look. Be quick, as the Wandering Trader will despawn after 40-60 minutes. Popularity: You are a certain level of popularity as a player. This is decreased by performing negative actions, such as attacking villager, but increased by trading more often or treating zombie villagers. Negative actions increase prices, while positive ones reduce them. Let's say that Illagers attack your village without warning. You happen to be in the vicinity and you can fend off the attack. You will be rewarded with the 'Hero of The Village' status effect which will further lower prices for trade (except for trades that cost 1 emerald.) These are the fundamentals of villager jobs and village trading. Now you should be able manage that villager farm with ease! Mojang believes that it is necessary to take the carpet off beneath our feet frequently, and for better or worse, trading is somewhat more complicated due to Supply & Demand mechanics, along with popularity functions. You can exploit these features to assist you, or make trading a mess on your Minecraft server. Minecraft servers list hope this guide helped you well. I hope you have a great time and good luck!
